Creating a role and adding LDAP users as members
The topic describes the procedure to create a role in IBM® Cognos® and add the members from an LDAP namespace to it.
Procedure
- Log in to IBM Cognos with an
LDAP user who has the system administrator privileges. For example,
PortalAdmin
. - Go to Launch, and click IBM Cognos Administration.
- Click the Security tab.
- In the Users, Groups, and Roles section, click Cognos.
- Click the New Role icon from the palette.
- Specify the name for a role. For example,
ISIMAuditor
. - Add the description and the screen tip.
- Click Next.
- Under Select the members, click Add.
- Under Available Entries Directory, click an LDAP namespace.
- Select the Show users in the list check box.
- Select the users whom you want to add as the members to the role and make it into selected entries list.
- Click OK.
- Click Finish.
