Risks and business activities

The basic entities in Access Risk Controls module in IGI i.e. Business Activities, Risks and Mitigations can be migrated to the Access Risk Controls module in IVIG.

Overview

In IGI, multiple configuration sets can be defined in ARC - Configure - Configuration Set. Only a single configuration set can be active at a time and the entities associated with this configuration can be managed in the ARC - Manage section. For migration of such entities too, one configuration set can be active at a time and the entities associated with the active configuration set would be migrated. To migrate the entities in other configuration set, it is advisable to set the required configuration as active and repeat the migration process.

Business Activities

The business activities defined in the active configuration set would be migrated. The customer must ensure that the names of the business activities must be unique across all the configuration sets if the data from all configuration sets is to be imported into IVIG. The business activity details and associated permission details would be migrated as a part of migration process.

Note: The linked permissions( i.e., service groups with access enabled) should already be created in IVIG with the same name as in IGI before migrating the business activities.

If a Business activity is a part of an hierarchy in IGI, it would be loaded into IVIG as a business activity folder. This folder would have a corresponding child business activity with the same name. The leaf nodes in the hierarchical structure of business activities would be added to the parent business activity folder.

The permissions associated to each business activity along with the permission groups would be migrated to IVIG. In this case, the "AND" condition in IGI would correspond to "ALL" in IVIG whereas "OR" condition in IGI would correspond to "ANY" condition in IVIG.

Risks

The risk definitions available in ARC - Manage - Risk Definition section for active configuration set would be migrated.

Mitigations

The mitigations available in ARC - Manage - Mitigation Controls section for active configuration set would be migrated.
