Logging In and Logging Off

Logging in enables you to access the system. After you have completed your work, logging off ends your session.

Logging in overview
Logging in enables you to manage your accounts. You use a valid user ID and password to log in.
Logging off overview
Logging off ends your session with the system, and you no longer have access.
Logging in to the system
To access the system, you must log in, using a valid ITIM Service user ID and password.
Logging off from the system
When you are done working with the system, you must log off from the system to ensure that others cannot use your access and information.
Passwords
A password is a string of characters that is used to authenticate your access to a system. A user ID and password are the two elements which grant you access to a system.
Changing your passwords
When you change your password, you can change it for one or more, or all, of your accounts. If password synchronization is enabled, your password is changed for all of your individual accounts automatically. For sponsored accounts or if password synchronization is not enabled, select the accounts for which you want to change your password.
Changing expired passwords
When your password expires, you can no longer use it to log in. If you try to log in with an expired password, you are prompted to change your password.
Changing and resetting forgotten passwords
Depending on how a system administrator configured the system, when you forget your password, you can change it or have the system reset it. You must answer one or more forgotten password questions correctly.
Specifying forgotten password information
You can use the forgotten password information to authenticate to the server when you forget your password.
