Use the Cluster Node Configuration page
to reconnect a node into the cluster of the IBM Verify Identity Governance - Virtual Appliance.
About this task
Depending on your requirement, you can reconnect a node into
the cluster for the following reasons:
- Adding a previously configured node to a cluster to increase scalability.
- A node that was shut off for maintenance is revived and must be
introduced back in the cluster.
- If you see a reconnect notification on the Appliance
Dashboard of a member node.
You can reconnect only a member node back to the cluster from
the
Appliance Dashboard of a member node. You must
provide the primary node details to reconnect a node into the cluster.
Note: You must
add the temporarily removed member node only to the primary node from
which it was disconnected.
The menu is displayed only in a cluster environment and
not in a stand-alone environment.
- From the top-level menu of the Appliance Dashboard, click .
- On the Cluster Node Configuration page,
select the member node record.
You can see only the existing
member node entry on the Cluster Node Configuration page.
- Click Reconnect.
The Reconnect
Node window is displayed.
- On the Reconnect Node window, provide
the details for the node that you want to reconnect into the cluster.
- Primary node host name
- The host name of the primary node. For example, isimva1.jk.example.com.
- Primary node administrator
- The user ID of the primary node administrator. For example, admin.
- Primary node administrator password
- The administrator password of the primary node.
- Click Yes to confirm.
The
member node is reconnected into the cluster.
Note: Reconnecting
a permanently removed member node from the cluster is as good as setting
up a new member node in the cluster.
- Optional: Click Refresh to
display the recently updated data.
