Managing certification campaigns

Detailed procedure to manage Account Certification and Access Certification campaigns for IBM Verify Identity Governance - Container.

Editing a campaign

For a campaign that is scheduled, you can modify all the fields. For campaigns that are running or paused, you can modify the Description and Priority fields only.

Perform the following steps to update an existing certification campaign.

  1. From the menu, go to Manage Certifications. The page shows the number of campaigns that are running, scheduled, paused, and closed.
  2. Select the campaign that you want to edit.
  3. Select Edit settings. You can modify these sections.
    • Description: Optionally, provide the reason or purpose of the campaign.
    • Priority: Specify the importance of the campaign, either high, medium, or low.
  4. Select Save changes.
The campaign is updated.

Pausing and resuming a campaign

Perform these steps to pause or resume individual or multiple campaigns.

  1. From the menu, go to Manage Certifications. The page shows the number of campaigns that are running, scheduled, paused, and closed.
  2. To pause an individual campaign, do the following steps.
    1. Select the check box for the campaign from the Running campaigns section.
    2. Take one of the following actions to pause the campaign: Select the menu icon and select Pause OR From the options that were displayed when you selected the campaign, select Pause campaign.
    3. Confirm that you want to pause the campaign.
  3. To resume an individual campaign, do the following steps.
    1. In the Other campaigns section, select Paused.
    2. Select the check box for the campaign.
    3. Take one of the following actions to resume the campaign: Select the menu icon and select Resume OR From the options that were displayed when you selected the campaign, select Yes, restart campaign.
    4. Confirm that you want to restart the campaign.
  4. [Optional]: Select the individual campaign to see its details. Depending on its status, you can select the Pause or Resume buttons.
  5. To pause multiple campaigns, do the following steps: Select the check boxes for the campaigns from the Running campaigns section. From the options that were displayed when you selected the campaigns, select Pause campaign. Confirm that you want to pause the campaigns.
  6. To resume multiple campaigns, do the following steps: In the Other campaigns section, select Paused. Select the check boxes for the campaigns. From the options that were displayed when you selected the campaign, select Yes, restart campaign. Confirm that you want to restart the campaigns.

Cloning (copying) a campaign

Perform these steps to clone (copy) an existing campaign. Note that you can copy a campaign in any state.

  1. From the menu, go to Manage Certifications. The page shows the campaigns that are running, scheduled, and paused.
  2. For the campaign that you want to clone (copy), click the action menu (indicated by three vertical dots) and select Copy .
  3. A message appears asking you to confirm that you want to clone the campaign. Click Clone campaign.
  4. A clone (copy) of the campaign is now created and displayed in the Draft tab. Go to the Draft tab and click on the cloned campaign.
  5. Next, you must update the cloned campaign as required. Click Edit settings. Make the necessary changes to the cloned campaign.
  6. Now you are ready to run the cloned campaign. Click Publish campaign.
  7. Depending on the settings, the cloned campaign will either go in the Running state or Pending state.
You have successfully cloned and published the campaign.

Canceling a campaign

Perform these steps to cancel (close) an individual or multiple campaigns.

  1. From the menu, go to Manage Certifications. The page shows the number of campaigns that are running, scheduled, and paused.
  2. Select the check box for one or more campaigns that you want to cancel.
  3. Take one of the following actions to cancel the campaign: Select the menu icon and select Cancel OR From the options that were displayed when you selected the campaign, select Cancel campaign.
  4. Confirm that you want to cancel the campaign.
    Attention: After you cancel a campaign, it is closed permanently and you cannot activate it again.
The canceled campaign is now listed in the Closed section.

Ending a campaign

You can manually end a currently-active campaign manually before its due date. When you end a campaign, all its pending requests will be automatically approved, rejected, or with no action, based on the sign-off action specified when the campaign was created. Completion status of an ended campaign is shown as 100%.

Note: You can end only those campaigns that are currently running. You cannot end a campaign that is in paused, scheduled or closed state.

Perform these steps to end one or multiple campaigns.

  1. From the menu, go to Manage Certifications. The page shows the number of campaigns that are running, scheduled, and paused.
  2. Select the check box for one or more campaigns that are currently running and that you want to delete.
  3. From the menu options that were displayed when you selected the campaign, click End campaign.
  4. A message appears informing that the campaign will end prematurely before its scheduled end date. Confirm that you want to end the campaign.

Deleting a campaign

You can delete only those campaigns that are in Completed or Closed state. You cannot delete a currently running campaign.
Attention: Note that deletion is permanent. When a campaign is deleted, it is removed permanently, and you cannot activate it again.

Perform these steps to delete one or multiple campaigns.

  1. From the menu, go to Manage Certifications. The page shows the number of campaigns that are running, scheduled, and paused.
  2. Select the check box for one or more campaigns that are in completed or closed state and that you want to delete.
  3. Take one of the following actions to delete the campaign: Select the menu icon and select Delete OR From the options that were displayed when you selected the campaign, select Delete campaign.
  4. A message appears. Confirm that you want to cancel the campaign.

For audit purposes, references to the deleted campaigns are maintained in the database, such as the AUDIT_CERTIFICATION table.
