Transferring roles

As an administrator, you can transfer static and dynamic roles in an organization tree.

Before you begin

You can transfer static and dynamic roles to the business unit that is under the same organization root. Following are a few restrictions for role transfer activity:
  • Roles cannot be transferred across different organization hierarchy.
  • When dynamic roles are transferred, old entitlements might be lost. A user entitlements or membership is recomputed based on the new business unit under which the dynamic role is transferred.
  • Roles to be transferred must contain an Access Control Item (ACI) granted for the Modify operation.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation tree, click Manage Roles. The Manage Roles page is displayed.
  2. On the Manage Roles page, complete these steps:
    • Click Refresh icon to load all roles.
    • Type name or description of the role in the Search box.
    • Click Filters icon, specify whether the search is done based on Service name, Role type or Membership type, and then click Apply filters. A list of roles that match the search criteria is displayed. If the list contains multiple pages, you can either click the arrow to go the next page, or, type the number of the page that you want to view and click Go.
  3. Select the checkbox on one or more Roles required to be transferred. Selecting the top-level checkbox will select all the Roles.
  4. After selecting, at the role table’s header. Transfer button will be shown. Click the Transfer button.
  5. A new page with all Organizations and units will be displayed. Select a unit and click OK.

Results

Selected Roles will be transferred.
