Services
A service represents a user repository for a resource, such as an operating system, a database application, or another application that Identity Manager manages. For example, a managed resource might be a Lotus Notes application, and a service can be defined for a Lotus Notes User Repository.
Users access these services by receiving an account on the service.
Services are created from service types, which represent sets of managed resources that share similar attributes. For example, there is a default service type that represents Linux® machines.
A service owner identifies the person who owns and maintains a particular service in Identity Manager. Contact your system administrator for additional information about the services that are available in your environment.
