Customizing the REST client response timeout
The REST client response timeout is connected with the response times of Identity Brokerage adapters. You can change its default value and adjust it to the median response times of your adapters.
About this task
The REST client timeouts when a REST call takes longer to respond than the specified time. When this happens, the OUT event fails. The default value of the REST client response timeout is 120 seconds. You can increase this time if an adapter that you use has longer than normal response times.
As a virtual appliance administrator, follow these steps to customize the timeout value from the virtual appliance local management interface.
Procedure
- From the top-level menu of the Appliance Dashboard, select .
- In the Custom File Management page, select the properties folder to list its content in the right pane.
- In the right pane, select file config.properties and select Download to save the file to a folder on your computer.
-
On your computer, open config.properties with an editor, and change the
value of property
http.response.timeout
.Specify the new value in seconds. If you enter 0 or below, the value defaults to 120. -
Go back to the Custom File Management page and select
config.properties again. Select Upload to upload the
edited version on the virtual appliance and overwrite the
existing config.properties file.
The new values in the config.properties file go into effect as soon as the current settings cache refresh time has passed. This time is 10 minutes. If you want to see the effect of your changes sooner, restart the IBM Security Verify Governance server.
