Including the path to nnotes.dll in the environment path variable
The dynamic link library nnotes.dll is installed with the Lotus® Domino® server or the Notes® client installation.
About this task
nnotes.dll file
is included in the Path environment variable, because the Lotus Notes® Adapter runs
this file and needs these files to initialize the Notes session. Note: Ensure that the
nnotes.dll file
is not placed in the bin directory of the Lotus
Notes Adapter or the Windows
System32 directory. For example, if your Notes client is installed
in C:\Lotus\Notes and its data directory is C:\Lotus\Notes\data,
use the following procedure to add the directory path of the nnotes.dll file
to the environment path variable:
Procedure
- Right-click My Computer, and click Properties. The System Properties window opens.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Click Environment Variables. The Environment Variables page opens.
- Under the System Variables area, select Path and click Edit.
- In the Variable value field,
add
the path
C:\Lotus\Notesand click OK. - On the Environment Variables page, click OK.
- In the System Properties window, click OK to save your changes and close the window.
Results
If
the procedure is not correct, then the Lotus
Notes Adapter returns
the following error:
This application has failed to start because nNOTES.dll was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
