Product overview

IBM Security Key Lifecycle Manager provides the software and services to deploy key management solutions. This product helps companies automate the process of provisioning encrypted keys, either in a closed enterprise environment or across a virtual or extended enterprise.

Procedure

  1. Access your software
    You can download IBM Security Key Lifecycle Manager, Version 3.0.1 from the IBM Passport Advantage website at http://www.ibm.com/software/howtobuy/passportadvantage/pao_customers.htm in the form of eAssembly packages for supported operating systems.     IBM Security Key Lifecycle Manager package includes the following offerings:
    • Quick Start CD
    • Runtime environment:
      • WebSphere® Application Server, Version 9.0.0.5
      • WebSphere SDK Java Technology Edition, Version 8.0.5.0
    • Database: DB2® Advanced Workgroup Server Edition, Version 11.1.2.2
    • IBM Security Key Lifecycle Manager, Version 3.0.1

  2. Evaluate your hardware and system configuration

  3. Review the base architecture
    The IBM Security Key Lifecycle Manager installation process can involve the following products:
    Base architecture
    • The WebSphere Application Server runs a Java virtual machine, providing the runtime environment. The application server provides communication security, logging, messaging, and web services.
    • Db2 stores key materials and other essential IBM Security Key Lifecycle Manager information in a relational database.
  4. Install IBM Security Key Lifecycle Manager
    Install IBM Security Key Lifecycle Manager components:
    • Runtime environment
      • WebSphere Application Server, Version 9.0.0.5
      • WebSphere SDK Java Technology Edition, Version 8.0.5.0
    • Database
