Upgrading IBM Storage Fusion HCI System services

You can choose to upgrade the installed services from the IBM Storage Fusion HCI System user interface.

Before you begin

If you choose to upgrade IBM Storage Fusion HCI System services using the Enterprise Registry, ensure that you mirror the images to your Enterprise Registry before you begin the upgrade. For more information, see Mirroring your images to the enterprise registry.

About this task

Important:
  • For an offline installation, ensure that you have completed mirroring and updated imagecontentsourcepolicy for deployed services. Otherwise, you see catalog source pods failing with an imagepullbackoffs error and no upgrade button show for services.
  • Before upgrading OADP or AMQ version for an offline install, ensure that the catalogsource pods are in running state.
You can view the availability of an upgrade in the following user interface pages:
  • In OpenShift® Container Platform web management console, go to Overview page and check the Activity section.
  • In the IBM Storage Fusion user interface:
    • Notification banner on the Quick start page.
    • Click the bell icon and view notifications in System notifications.
    • Notification banner on the Services page.
