The following table lists the hotfixes required for the IBM Storage Fusion HCI System 2.8.x release. These updates are necessary for error-free functionality.

Hotfixes for 2.8.0 and 2.8.1

The following table lists the issues fixed by the hotfixes.

Backup and restore issues:
  • After you install or upgrade Backup & Restore to version 2.8.0, the Kafka version may not be correct for the installed version of AMQ.
  • After you install or upgrade the IBM Storage Fusion to 2.8.0, the Backup & Restore service might get stuck during install and upgrade as following:
    • Installation of Backup & Restore service gets stuck at 75%.
    • Upgrade of Backup & Restore service gets stuck at 90%.
  • After you install or upgrade Backup & Restore to version 2.8.0, then the required OADP version might be lower than 1.3. This fixes Backup & Restore to be compatible with OADP 1.2 and below from the previous releases.

Note: Run this script before you install Backup & Restore.

After you install the Backup & Restore service, ensure that you run the post install script. For post install script, see https://github.com/IBM/storage-fusion/blob/master/backup-restore/hotfixes/2.8.1/br-post-install-patch281.sh.

The IBM Storage Fusion 2.8.1 supports Global Data Platform 5.2.0.1. If you installed this 2.8.0 hotfix, then the upgrade option for Global Data Platform is not available in the 2.8.1version.
