Removing application enrollment

When you no longer need asynchronous disaster recover for your applications, remove their enrollment from Regional DR. You can remove the enrollment only from the primary site.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the primary site user interface.
  2. Go to the Applications page or Replicated applications page.
  3. Select one or more applications and click Manage disaster recovery in the batch actions to unenroll them for Regional DR.
  4. In the Manage disaster recovery window, select the No disaster recovery tile.
  5. Click Save.
  6. In the Remove disaster recovery confirmation window, click Remove.
  7. To validate, do the following steps:
    1. In the Replicated applications page of the primary site, check the status of the applications.
      The status is in progress state initially and then changes to Not protected state. It gets removed from the Replicated applications table.
    2. In the Applications page of the primary site, search for the applications to check whether the DR status is Not protected.
    3. Go to the Replicated applications page of the secondary site and confirm that these applications are not available.
    4. Go to the Applications page of secondary site and check whether the DR statuses of the unerolled applications are in Not enrolled at partner state.

What to do next

To delete the data copy on the secondary site after a successful unenrollment, do the following steps:

Edit ApprovalRequest CR of a given application to add the following spec field:
approve:approved

After you successfully apply this change, the ApprovalRequest CR of the given application gets deleted and the protection status of the application changes to not-protected.
