Configuring Regional DR

Configure Regional DR between two IBM Storage Fusion HCI Systems.

About this task

Important: In this document, the site where the application is running is the primary site and peer site is the secondary site of an application.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the secondary site of the IBM Storage Fusion HCI System, and go to Disaster Recovery > Overview.
  2. Click Generate connection snippet to copy the connection snippet of the secondary site.
  3. In the Connection Snippet successfully generated window, click Copy.
  4. Log in to the IBM Storage Fusion HCI System user interface of the primary site.
  5. Go to Diaster Recovery > Overview.
  6. Click Connect to a cluster, and in Add to cluster window, click Regional tile.
If the AFM nodes are not detected in this cluster, then a critical error is displayed. Fix the AFM connection issue and then proceed with further steps.
  7. Click Next.
  8. In the Replication type window, paste the connection snippet of the primary site in Enter connection snippet.
  9. Click Add.
The success of the connection is displayed in a confirmation message.
  10. Refresh the Topology page to see a pictorial representation of the connection between primary site and secondary site.
If any of the rack is down, in the Topology page of the user interface, a critical symbol is shown near the site. Also, the Events section shows the error codes of both sites. The different failure events are connection state failed, NFS status failed, cluster status failed, RDR health status failed.
