You can add additional storage nodes or add disks to existing nodes.

Adding additional storage nodes
As the disk slots fill up on existing storage nodes in the cluster, you can add additional storage nodes to increase the amount of available storage. Note that all storage nodes must have an equal number of disks, so new storage nodes must match the disk configuration of the storage nodes that are already in the rack.
Adding new disks to existing Global Data Platform nodes
If storage gets added at the hardware level, then the new storage information is available on the IBM Storage Fusion HCI System user interface. You can add storage to the cluster by adding additional disks to the storage nodes in the cluster. Each storage node must have the same number of disks, so make sure to add an equal number of disks to each node in the cluster.
Adding new disks to existing Fusion Data Foundation nodes
After you add additional disks to Fusion Data Foundation storage nodes, it auto detects the new disks and auto expands the capacity to Fusion Data Foundation storage cluster. Each storage node must have the same number of disks, so make sure to add an equal number of disks to each node in the cluster.
