Monitoring storage options from IBM Storage Scale Erasure Code Edition (ECE) console

From the IBM Spectrum® Storage Scale Erasure Code Edition (ECE) console, you can manage file systems, node addition, disk replacement, AFM management. In addition, you can monitor the health check, and serviceability. From the IBM Storage Fusion user interface, you can manage storage node addition.

IBM Storage Fusion includes a storage platform layer based on IBM Storage Scale. IBM Storage Fusion brings together the unstructured data management capabilities of IBM Storage Scale. IBM Storage Fusion combines IBM Storage Scale functions with backup and restore software. Operations can protect data directly to cloud or to a remote IBM Storage Scale system and then even archive to tape.

Access the IBM Storage Scale Erasure Code Edition (ECE) console from the IBM Storage Fusion user interface to work with the storage options.

From the Dashboard menu in the IBM Storage Fusion user interface, click Storage Software to open the IBM Storage Scale Erasure Code Edition (ECE) console.
Log in to the IBM Storage Scale Erasure Code Edition (ECE) console for storage management and to leverage the features for advanced configurations.
Note: The IBM Storage Scale Erasure Code Edition (ECE) console shares a single sign-on authentication with the IBM Storage Fusion user interface.

See the following menu options on the IBM Storage Scale Erasure Code Edition (ECE) console that you can use to work with the storage options of IBM Storage Fusion.

Home

It provides an overall summary of the IBM Storage Scale system configuration, status of its components, and services that are hosted on it.

Monitoring

It provides a dashboard to display the predefined performance charts and the customized chart. You can use more of the monitoring options that are available in this menu for working with the storage options.

Nodes

It monitors the performance and health status of the nodes that are configured in the cluster. You can also create and manage user-defined node classes from the Nodes page. As part of the IBM Storage Fusion tasks, click Files > File Systems to manage nodes or disks for storage.

Add nodes or disks: To add nodes or disks from the IBM Storage Fusion user interface, see Configuring nodes for management and Adding additional storage nodes. Separate procedures are involved for adding AFM, GPU, and storage nodes.
Disk replacement: Replace the disks from the IBM Storage Scale Erasure Code Edition (ECE) console. For more information, see Disk Replacement and Replacing disks in a GPFS file system.

Cluster

It monitors the network and network adapter performance and health statuses.

Storage

It helps to monitor the performance, health status, and configuration aspects of all available pools in the IBM Storage Scale cluster.

Services

It monitors and manages various services that are hosted on the IBM Storage Fusion system.

Support

You can download diagnostic data to troubleshoot the reported IBM Storage Fusion issues. You can also configure the call home feature that automatically notifies the IBM® Support for the reported issues.
