SDN Capacity

The SDN Capacity widget displays data for the ACI Capacity or ACI Switch Capacity of the device you select.
Note:
  • SDN Capacity widget now uses TopN query. For data to appear in the widget, it can take 4 to 6 hours from the time of installation.
  • Please do not edit or delete following SevOne NMS TopN views as they are used by SDN Capacity widget.

Data

The Data tab enables you to select the resources to graph.

sdnCapacityData - Device sdnCapacityDataDG - Device Group

Perform the following steps to set the widget settings for Data tab.

  1. Click the Datasource drop-down and select SevOne NMS cluster or appliance.
  2. For Widget Type, choose one of the following radio buttons:
    1. ACI Capacity - to display ACI capacity data for the selected device.
    2. ACI Switch Capacity - to display switch capacity data for the selected device.
  3. Click the Resource Type drop-down and select from the following options.
    • Device - click the POD drop-down and select the SDN POD target.
    • Device group - click the Cisco ACI Device Group drop-down and select the target.
  4. Click Run to generate an SDN Capacity report based on the configuration.
    Note: Run button is only available when one or more fields are changed in the Data tab.
  5. In the report generated, select one of the following radio buttons for Value Source.
    1. Average - to display the average value of an indicator.
    2. Maximum - to display the maximum value of an indicator.
    3. Minimum - to display the minimum value of an indicator.

ACI Switch Capacity

Note:

In the report generated, the color scheme is applied according to the usage percentage and not value for each column. The value 5 of 800 is equivalent to 0.63% and has Green color in the background.

Now, please refer to section Charts > Visualization > Table > COLOR SCHEME and you will see that range 0.01 - 29% is set to Green color, to 49% is set to Yellow color, to 79% is set to Orange color, and to 100% is set to Red color.

Note: After generating a report
  • Replace Untitled Report name with an appropriate report name. For example, SDN Capacity Report.
  • Replace Untitled Section name with an appropriate name. For example, SDN Capacity.

Analyze

The Analyze tab enables you to define the time zone and timespan.

Perform the following steps to set the widget settings for Analyze tab.

  1. Click Past 24 hours New_York for example.
    1. Past <n> hours, days, weeks, months, quarter, year - to display data from hours, days, weeks, months, quarter, or year ago until now.
    2. Today - to display data from 12:00am today until now.
    3. Yesterday - to display data from 12:00am yesterday until 12:00am today.
    4. Last week, month, quarter, year - to display data from 12:00am on the first day of the last completed week, month, quarter, or year to 11:59pm on the last day of the last completed week, month, quarter, or year.
    5. This week, month, quarter, year - to display data from 12:00am on the first day of the week, month, quarter, or year until now.
    6. Customize the timespan with From and To date / time.
    7. Enable Custom to choose the Timespan from the list.
  2. Click the Time zone drop-down and select the time zone.

Linking

The Linking tab enables you to select a data element and link it to a related report or report template. Perform the following steps to add, delete, and edit links.

Perform the following steps to set the widget settings for Linking tab.

  1. Include report links allows you to include the report links that you configure. Enable to include the report link that you configure. If you want to prevent the report link from being included, disable it. Continue with the steps below to configure report link(s).
  2. Switches for individual report links are selected by default. If you wish to exclude a specific report link, disable the switch for it.
  3. Use the Clicking on drop-down to select a data item that you want to link with the report or report template. When you select a data item for a report link, that data item is no longer listed as an option for other report links as it has already been used. You can apply multiple reports/report templates to the selected data item.
  4. Click the Links to report drop-down and select one or more reports or report templates to display when you click on the data item that you specified in the previous step.
  5. To remove a report link, click Trash Can icon.
  6. To create additional report links, click Add report link button.

Charts

The Charts tab enables you to define how you want to display the report data.

The charts provide Table visualization only.

Table

The Table visualization displays the data as a table. Perform the following steps to set the widget settings for the Table visualization.

  1. Select the Table visualization by clicking Table visualization.
  2. TITLE
    1. Enable Show title to enter the title name in the text field provided and display it in report. Else, disable it.
    2. Enable Show subtitle to enter the sub-title name in the text field provided and display it in the report. Else, disable it.
  3. COLUMNS & CELLS
    1. Enable Show search bar to display search bar in the report. Else, disable it.
    2. Enable Allow column reordering to allow the columns that display in the report to be reordered.
    3. Enable Allow showing/hiding columns to allow columns in the report to be hidden and unhidden.
    4. Enable Wrap cell content to wrap long text in a data row so that all text displays. Leave clear to display as much text as fits into the cell with ellipses to indicate there is more text.
    5. Enable Abbreviate numbers to abbreviate large numbers. Examples of large integer abbreviation are:
      • 5000 becomes 5K
      • 5000000 becomes 5M

      To abbreviate large decimal numbers, you must enter the data precision in the Precision field. To do this, follow the steps below:

      1. Abbreviate numbers field must be enabled.
      2. Precision field is now available.
      3. Enter the data precision in the Precision field. For example, enter 4.
      4. The values displayed in widget preview will now display data with the data precision entered. Examples of large decimal number abbreviation are:
        • 20.12345 will display as 20.1234 when Precision = 4
        • 20.12345 will display as 20.12 when Precision = 2
        • 20.14912 will display as 20.15 when Precision = 2 NOTE: Number is rounded.
        Note: Disable Abbreviate numbers field if you do not want to abbreviate large numbers.
  4. COLUMN SELECTION
    1. Select the check boxes to display the selected fields as data columns in the table. The names in the second column are the names for the columns that appear in the report. You may modify the names in the second column to your choice.
  5. COLOR SCHEME
    1. Export Color Scheme - click to export the default color.json file to your local directory. Export exports only applied values.
    2. Import Color Scheme - click to import your .json file from your local directory. The imported definitions are applied immediately.
    3. Choose the From / To range and assign a color to it.
    4. Click the Add Color button to choose another range.
    5. Click the Reverse Color button to reverse the color selection for ranges.
    6. Click the Apply button to apply changes made for the color ranges in the report generated.
    7. Click Reset icon to reset all colors and ranges to the last applied state.
      Note: The numbers set in From / To fields in the COLOR SCHEME subtab are in %.
