User Roles

The User, Roles, & Permissions page enables you to view information about users, user roles, and permissions as well as manage users and user roles.

From the left navigation bar, click Administer and select User Roles.

User Roles
Note: Users with one or more SevOne Data Insight super roles (Super Admin, Super Report Creator, Super Report Consumer) will bypass their normal NMS role based NMS access, possibly elevating the access to data they would otherwise not see. When assigned a SevOne Data Insight super role, the user will authenticate with their own NMS credentials, but then utilize the NMS roles assigned to SevOne Data Insight tenant or super-user during tenant creation. As expected, all non-super users are limited to the device access granted by their roles in the NMS.
Important: The super roles may see the maximal amount of resources accessible in the tenant, not necessarily everything on SevOne NMS.
During installation, it is recommended that an NMS role is assigned to a tenant. All users logging in must be a member of this NMS role, only on the NMS authentication source, for tenant membership.
Important:
  • When creating a tenant, if nmsRoleId is blank, all users will have access to log in.

  • If nmsRoleId has a value then the users must be in that role and not in a role that is a child of the role. i.e. subgroup.

User accounts must also exist on all data sources with the same credentials as the authentication source, in order to retrieve other assigned NMS roles for data access. The NMS role used for tenant membership may be modified on SevOne Data Insight tenant management page.

Perform the following steps to view information about users, user roles, and user permissions. User Permissions are read-only.
