WiFi Station Summary
- Wifi Station Summary widget is supported on Cisco Airespace and Aruba.
- Operating System Information is not available for Cisco due to lack of MIB support. It is only available for Aruba.
Data
The Data tab enables you to select the resources to graph.
Perform the following steps to set the widget settings for Data tab.
- Click the Datasource drop-down and select the SevOne NMS cluster or appliance.
- Click the Device Group drop-down and select a device group.
- Click Run to generate a Wifi Station Summary report based on the configuration.
- In the report generated, the following pie graphs are presented into the report and can be
filtered by the device:
- Stations by SSID - to show number of stations by SSID.
- Top Access Points (Stations) - to show number of stations by Access Points.
- Stations by Manufacturer - to show number of stations by Manufacturers.
- Stations by Band - to show number of stations by Band.
- Stations by Operating System - to show number of stations by Operating Systems. (Operating System information is only available for Aruba and so Cisco stations would show as "unknown".)
- Click on any piece of the pie graph to view object data in the form of table. The table provides
search capability.
Example
After generating a report
Replace Untitled Report name with an appropriate report name. For example, Wifi Station Summary Report.

Linking
The Linking tab enables you to select a data element and link it to a related report or report template. Perform the following steps to add, delete, and edit links. Linking for the Wifi Station Summary widgets works with the Pie visualization.
Perform the following steps to set the widget settings for Linking tab.
- Include report links allows you to include the report links that you configure. Enable to include the report link that you configure. If you want to prevent the report link from being included, disable it. Continue with the steps below to configure report link(s).
- Radio buttons for individual report links are selected by default. If you wish to exclude a specific report link, disable the radio button for it.
- Use the Clicking on drop-down to select a data item that you want to link with the report or report template. When you select a data item for a report link, that data item is no longer listed as an option for other report links as it has already been used. You can apply multiple reports/report templates to the selected data item.
- Click the Links to report drop-down and select one or more reports or report templates to display when you click on the data item that you specified in the previous step.
- To remove a report link, click .
- If the report link has been deleted, you may click to add.
Charts
The Charts tab enables you to define how you want to display the report data.
Visualizations
The charts provide 2 visualizations.
Pie
The Pie visualization displays the data as a pie graph. Perform the following steps to set the widget settings for the Pie visualization. There are 5 sections for 5 pie graphs available with some configuration options.
- Select the Pie visualization by clicking .
- There are total 5 sections for 5 pie graphs available with some configuration options. Perform
the following steps for section(s) required.
- Deselect the Show Pie check box to hide the pie chart.
- Select the Show tooltips check box to display tooltips when you hover over sections of the graph or over labels (if labels are used).
- Select the Show values check box to display the pie value alongside the label.
- Enable Show title to enter the title name in the text field provided and display it in report. Else, disable it.
- Enable Show subtitle to enter the sub-title name in the text field provided and display it in the report. Else, disable it.
- Select any one radio button (Donut, Pie, or Nightingale) for pie visualization.
- Under Radius, perform one of the following actions to configure radius of the pie graph:
- Extend the bar to the right to increase the radius or shorten the bar to decrease the radius.
- Enter a number for the radius size in the field next to the bar.
- Enter a number for the Maximum Pie pieces represented on the pie graph. Click Reset to reset the maximum pie pieces to the default value 10.
Table
The Table visualization displays the data as a table. Perform the following steps to set the widget settings for the Table visualization.
- Select the Table visualizations by clicking .
- TITLE
- Enable Show title to enter the title name in the text field provided and display it in report. Else, disable it.
- Enable Show subtitle to enter the sub-title name in the text field provided and display it in the report. Else, disable it.
- COLUMNS & CELLS
- Enable Show search bar to display search bar in the report. Else, disable it.
- Enable Allow column reordering to allow the columns that display in the report to be reordered.
- Enable Allow showing/hiding columns to allow columns in the report to be hidden and unhidden.
- Enable Wrap cell content to wrap long text in a data row so that all text displays. Leave clear to display as much text as fits into the cell with ellipses to indicate there is more text.
- COLUMN SELECTION
- Select check boxes to display selected fields as data columns in the table. The names in the second column are names for columns that appear in the report. You may modify names in the second column to your choice.
- Click on any piece of the pie graph to view object data in the form of table. The table provides
the search capability.
Example: Large Scale Environment (>1000 stations)
Selected station count exceeds limit (1000).
After a report is created and saved, you may want to add a variable to the report. To do this, follow the steps below.
- In the left navigation bar, click the Reports.
- Click the report name link you want to edit.
- Click in the upper-right corner.
- Click on .
- Under the Edit Variable section, choose Device Groups option from the drop-down.
- In the Name field, provide a name for the report variable. Leave the field as is to use the default name.
- Disable Multiple selection option to allow selecting only one device group from the list
when applying the report variable.
Wifi Station Summary widget does not support multiple selection option.
