Maps Widget

The Maps widget can leverage geospatial or custom image backgrounds to display network layout with alert status. You can drill-down for Alert Summary and Alert Details. Perform the steps below to configure settings for the Maps widget.

Important: The Maps widget allows you to visualize a map. You may overwrite the map settings, but the map cannot be edited. To create a new map or edit an existing one, please refer to section Explore > Maps.

Data

The Data tab enables you to select a map.

Perform the following steps to set the widget settings for Data tab.

  1. Map
    1. Select Map - allows you to select a map from the drop-down list. Select Explore in the left navigation bar to create the maps.

Linking

Maps Linking

Perform the following steps to set the widget settings for Linking tab.

  1. Include report links allows report consumers to click on a data element such as, device name, and link it to the related report. Enable to include the report link that you configure. If you want to prevent the report link from being included, disable it. Continue with the steps below to configure the report link.
  2. By default, Report Link 1 is enabled.
    Note: If you wish to exclude the report link, disable Report Link 1.
  3. Use the Clicking on drop-down to select a data item that you want to link with the report or report template. When you select a data item for a report link, that data item is no longer listed as an option for other report links as it has already been used. You can apply multiple reports/report templates to the selected data item. For example, Device Name, Device Group Name, Object Name, Object Group Name, or Indicator Name.
  4. Click the Links to report drop-down and select one or more reports or report templates to display when you click on the data item that you specified in the previous step.
  5. To remove the report link, click Trash can icon.
  6. To create additional report link(s), click Add report link button.

The Charts tab enables you to define how you want to display the map.

The charts provides Map visualization only.

Maps Charts

Map

Map visualization allows you to configure map options. Perform the following steps to set the widget settings for the Map visualization.

  1. GENERAL
    1. Enable Map Options - select check box to allow you to configure the following settings. If check box is unchecked, the following settings cannot be changed.
      • Allow Geo/Canvas Switching - allows you to switch between Geo and Canvas settings.
      • Allow Overlay Toggling - allows OVERLAYS toggling for Metrics Styling and Alert Status.
      • Allow Layout Switching - allows you to choose the topology layout. The layout can be Organic, Sequential, Lens, or Custom.
      • Allow Tag Toggling - if tags are associated with the node(s), they can be toggled to hide / show the node(s).
      • Allow Policy Toggling - allows you to toggle the policies to be shown / hidden on the map interface.
  2. MAP
    1. Zoom Range - extend the bar to the right to increase the zoom level or shorten the bar to decrease it. With this, you can increase the zoom level to allow street view in Maps. The zoom level range is between 1 - 20 and 9 is the default value.
    2. Tile Server - if you want a map-specific tile server, enter your tile server URL. The client browser must have an internet connection for this to work.
