Cisco AP Inspector
The Cisco AP (Access Point) Inspector widget shows the SNMP summary information of selected AP as graphs. It allows you to select Access Point and Radio Slot fields. Once selected, the values are passed to SevOne NMS where it performs a lookup on the SNMP info for WLC to retrieve the summary information which is graphed as:
-
Channel List Comparison (Interference and Noise readings for the AP/Radio)
-
Current Channel Coverage (where the user stations fall in relation to RSSI Coverage and SnR Coverage)
WLCs generally automatically select an appropriate radio channel. However, you have the option to view all available radio channels and their performance characteristics to verify that the best channel is in use.

Data
The Data tab enables you to select the resources to graph.
Perform the following steps to set the widget settings for Data tab.
- Click the Datasource drop-down and select the SevOne NMS cluster or appliance.
- Click the Devices drop-down and select a device.
- Click Run to generate a Cisco AP Inspector report based on the configuration.
- In the report generated, perform the following actions:
- Click the Access Point drop-down and select an access point.
- Click the Radio Slot drop-down and select a radio slot.
- For Channel List Comparison, it displays Interference and Noise readings for the AP/Radio.
- For Current Channel Coverage, it displays where the user stations fall in relation to
RSSI Coverage and SnR Coverage.
Example
After generating a report
Replace Untitled Report name with an appropriate report name. For example, Cisco AP Inspector Report.
Replace Untitled Section name with an appropriate name. For example, Cisco AP Inspector.
Charts
The Charts tab enables you to define how you want to display the report data.
Visualizations
The charts provide AP Inspector visualization only.
AP Inspector
Perform the following steps to set the widget settings for the AP Inspector visualization.
