WiFi Station Details

The Wifi Station Details widget displays various indicators as charts and metadata of the selected station. It takes the Object Id of the station from a standard Data Insight filter or from a linked report. For example, Wifi Station Summary widget report linking. It displays a super widget list of related charts that are linked together. Stations may support both SnR Margin and RSSI, or just one of them depending on the WLC Vendor (Aruba shows SnR Margin only, Cisco Airespace shows both, Cisco Meraki shows only RSSI).

  • Wifi Station Details widget is supported on Cisco Airespace and Aruba.
  • Operating System Information is not available for Cisco due to lack of MIB support. It is only available for Aruba.

Data

The Data tab enables you to select the resources to graph.

Wifi Station Details Data

Perform the following steps to set the widget settings for Data tab.

  1. Click the Datasource drop-down and select the SevOne NMS cluster or appliance.

  2. Click the Wifi Station drop-down and select the station.

  3. Click Run to generate a Wifi Station Details report based on the configuration.

  4. In the report generated, the following are presented for the Wifi Station selected.

    • Metadata at the top of the report for the station being viewed.

    • AP, WLC, and SSID Trails - shows the access points, WLCs, and SSIDs that the user has associated with throughout the day.

    • The remaining charts are eCharts which are linked to the top chart for time frame changes.

    After generating a report
    Replace Untitled Report name with an appropriate report name. For example, Wifi Station Details Report.

    Replace Untitled Section name with an appropriate name. For example, Wifi Station Details.

Analyze

The Analyze tab enables you to define the time zone and timespan.

Wifi Station Details Analyze

Perform the following steps to set the widget settings for Analyze tab.

  1. Click the Timespan drop-down and select one or more of the following options:

    • Past <n> hours, days, weeks, months, quarter, year - to display data from hours, days, weeks, months, quarter, or year ago until now.

    • Today - to display data from 12:00am today until now.

    • Yesterday - to display data from 12:00am yesterday until 12:00am today.

    • Last week, month, quarter, year - to display data from 12:00am on the first day of the last completed week, month, quarter, or year to 11:59pm on the last day of the last completed week, month, quarter, or year.

    • This week, month, quarter, year - to display data from 12:00am on the first day of the week, month, quarter, or year until now.

    • Customize the time span with From and To date / time.

  2. Click the Time zone drop-down and select the time zone.

Linking

The Linking tab enables you to select a data element and link it to a related report or report template.

Wifi Station Details Linking

Perform the following steps to set the widget settings for Linking tab.

  1. Include report links allows you to include the report links that you configure. Enable to include the report link that you configure. If you want to prevent the report link from being included, disable it. Continue with the steps below to configure report link(s).

  2. Radio buttons for individual report links are selected by default. If you wish to exclude a specific report link, disable the radio button for it.

  3. Use the Clicking on drop-down to select a data item that you want to link with the report or report template. When you select a data item for a report link, that data item is no longer listed as an option for other report links as it has already been used. You can apply multiple reports/report templates to the selected data item.

  4. Click the Links to report drop-down and select one or more reports or report templates to display when you click on the data item that you specified in the previous step.

  5. To remove a report link, click Delete Icon.

  6. To create additional report links, click Add Report Link Button.

Charts

The Charts tab enables you to define how you want to display the report data.

Visualizations

The charts provide Line Charts visualization only. This visualization does not have the configuration capability. It displays the report similar to Data tab.

Line Charts

Perform the following steps to set the widget settings for the Signal quality visualization.

  1. Select the Line Charts visualizations by clicking click Line Charts.

  2. TITLE

    1. Enable Show title to enter the title name in the text field provided and display it in report. Else, disable it.

    2. Enable Show subtitle to enter the sub-title name in the text field provided and display it in the report. Else, disable it.

  3. SETTINGS

    • Enable radio buttons to display the enabled fields as data columns/graphs in the report.
