Report Linking

The Report Linking page enables you to configure global device and object report links to device and object reports and report templates.

Report Linking only applies to report variables of the same type. For example, clicking on a device will only send a Device to device report variables. However, clicking on a Device will not affect a Flow Interface report variable.

From the left navigation bar, click Configure and select Report Linking.

By default, you get two report linking templates - Global Report Link 0 and Global Report Link 1.

Click images/downArrow.png to expand a Report Link and perform the following steps to configure it.

Report Linking - Example 1

  1. Individual report links are enabled by default. If you wish to exclude a specific report link, disable it.

  2. Select one of the following data items:

    • Device - the device name.
    • Object - the object name.
    • Indicator - the indicator name.

  3. Click the Links to report drop-down and select one or more reports and/or report templates. When you click on the data item specified in the previous step, it will open a breadcrumb page with the report(s) and/or report template(s) that you select here. To remove a report link, click Delete after Links to report.

  4. Click the Field drop-down and select a field to apply. For example, Device name, Device alternate name, Device IP, Device description, Device type.

  5. Click the Operator drop-down and select an operator to apply.

  6. If you selected an operator, in the Value text field, enter a value to apply. For example, if you have a template for Cisco router details; you might add a field Device name with the is like operator and the value Cisco.

  7. To apply additional fields, operators, and values to the device level, object level, or the indicator level, click images/addCondition.png. To remove them, click the images/trashCanIcon.png under the condition you want to delete. For example, you may choose field Device IP with the is like operator and the value 10.129.12.100 .

  8. To rename the report link from Global Report Link 0 to something else, place your cursor on Global Report Link 0 for example, and click images/editIcon.png . This allows you to edit and rename the report link.

  9. To add additional report links, click images/addLink.png .

  10. To load the report linking settings from the server and overwrite your changes, click images/restoreButton.png. You will get a confirmation pop-up to. Click OK to confirm or Cancel to exit.

  11. To save the report links, click images/saveButton.png .

Buttons

The Report Linking page has 3 buttons.

  • Add Link - allows you to add a new link.
  • Restore - allows you to restore the default settings.
  • Save - allows you to save the report links added.
