This refresh contains the latest IBM® fixes, the most recent
OpenJDK level, and the following new features.
- OpenJ9 features
- This release contains features from the 0.47 and 0.49 release of the Eclipse OpenJ9 project, as listed in the Version 0.47.0 and Version 0.49.0 OpenJ9 user documentation.

- OpenJCEPlus provider enhanced with AES/CCM mode support
- Support for AES/CCM mode is added to the OpenJCEPlus provider. For more information, see OpenJCEPlus provider.
- ZERTJSSE provider added
- The ZERTJSSE provider, which was supported in the IBM Semeru Runtime Certified Edition for z/OS, Version 17 but was not available in the first release of Version 21, is now supported. For more information, see ZERTJSSE provider.
- zEnterprise Data Compression
- The zEnterprise Data Compression (zEDC) Express adapter and the Integrated Accelerator for zEDC solution for z15 or later, which was supported in the IBM Semeru Runtime Certified Edition for z/OS, Version 17 but was not available in the first release of Version 21, is now supported. - Logging capability added for JEP 400 auto-conversion
- JEP 400 auto-conversion feature is enhanced with a logger for better diagnostic ability. The
logger, when enabled, tracks the auto-conversion related activities. To enable logging and capture
the logs, a new property
com.ibm.autocvt.trace
