Editing a custom application profile

You can make changes to the application profile information. You can add, delete, or modify attributes in the profile, or change the constraints.

Before you begin

You must have administrative permission to complete this task. You must have an application profile that is in either draft or published state.

About this task

If an application profile that is selected for edit is in draft mode, the edits can be directly made to the profile. If selected application profile is in published state, you must select Edit as draft to edit the profile. You can edit the draft copy while users can continue to work with the published version.
Note: Editing an already published profile as draft does not affect any of the applications that are associated with the published version of the profile. Only after the edited profile is published, the associated applications can consume the updates to the application profiles. Changes typically include a name change of the profile itself, or changes to the application profile attributes that are attached to the profile.

Procedure

  1. Log in as administrator in IBM® Verify and navigate to Applications > Application profiles.
The profiles are listed in the following columns:
    • Profile name
    • Description
    • Last modified
    • Status
  2. Optional: Use the search text box or use the filters to find the application profile that you want to edit.
  3. Select the application profile hyperlink to start the Edit page.
  4. If the application profile is in published mode, select Edit as draft, otherwise continue to the next step.
  5. Optional: On the General set up tab, you can modify the profile name or description.
  6. Optional: Add or remove attributes from the adapter profile or create custom attributes to add to the profile.
Note: You can remove custom attributes only.
  7. Optional: For existing attributes, you can update the target attribute name, and read-only or multivalued constraints.
  8. Optional: To delete a draft profile, select the Delete draft field and confirm that you want to delete the profile.
  9. Select Save.
  10. To make the application profile changes available for use, select Publish draft.
You can publish the draft now or later.
