Setting up multi-factor authentication methods
To protect you and your data, applications often require second factor authentication. The application wants to make sure that you are the actual person that is logging in. You can use various methods for second factor authentication. Typically the more common methods are email and text messaging. You can set up either one or both of these methods for second factor authentication. It is probably a good idea to set up both so that you have a backup method.
Procedure
- Open you profile menu by clicking the circular icon in the toolbar. Typically the icon has your initials.
- From your profile menu, click Profile & settings.
- From your Profile page, click Security.
- Perform second factor authentication. Since you didn't set up any authentication factors yet, a passcode is sent to your email address that is associated with your Verify account.
- Enter the passcode and click Submit. You authenticated and are back on your Profile & settings page Security tab. You can now add your authentication methods.
