Customized themes for supported and nonsupported languages

You can see the rules that apply to both supported and nonsupported languages by IBM Security Verify.

Supported languages

IBM Security Verify supports several different languages. For more information, see Language support.

Note: The template's language is set according to the browser, unless there is a language parameter.
URL language parameter
When you request a template, it displays the language that the browser is configured to. Requesting the page with a language parameter in its URL it overrides the browser language and displays it in the language that is requested on the URL.

Example

The URL to log in to IBM Security Verify is https://your-tenant.dev.verify.ibmcloudsecurity.com. This is the same URL log in with the Spanish language parameter included. https://your-tenant.dev.verify.ibmcloudsecurity.com?lang=es. The template is displayed with "lang=es", which overrides the browser's configured language.

Nonsupported languages

To add a language for a themed page, go to the downloaded .zip file and navigate to the same directory level as the existing supported language directories. Then, create a new language directory in the same folder. Rename the new language directory to the wanted locale. Next, create a language page, then paste it into the new language directory. After the new language directory is uploaded, the user is then able to see the page in that nonsupported language. The system can detect the changes in the .zip folder. You can upload both the changed files and the other files that are included on the .zip file. Only the newchanges are processed .

Translations can also be made available for individual templates, such as emails, or common labels. For more information on labels, see Customizing labels.

Nonsupported languages Examples

An administrator wants to send one-time passwords (OTP) SMS messages in Norwegian. The administrator adds a no(Norwegian) directory in the authenication/mfs/sms and authenication/mfs/email folder and copies the customized Norwegian theme page to the no directory. After the theme page is uploaded to the Verify tenant, the OTP SMS messages are sent in Norwegian.

If the administrator also wants their users to see the login pages in Norwegian, they add an no (Norwegian) directory under the common/labels theme path, and add the customized Norwegian template_labels.properties file to the directory. The template_labels.properties file stores all the label text that is displayed by Verify themes.
