Add Credentials to the Local User Store

Before you begin

  • Enable user authentication for the inbound connection.
  • Ensure that the engine is configured to use the user store containing the user credentials.

About this task

If you enable user authentication through the local user store, you have to add user information to the local user store for validation by Secure Proxy during an inbound FTP client connection.

To add user information to the local user store:

Procedure

  1. From IBM Sterling Secure Proxy, select Credentials from the left hand-side navigation panel.
  2. Click User Stores and select a user store to modify.
  3. Under the Configure New User, click Add New User +.
  4. Specify values for the following:
    Mandatory fields:
    • User Name
    • Password
    • Confirm Password
    • Password Policy ID
    Optional fields:
    • Description
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Email
    • Pager
    • Manager ID
  5. Click Submit.
