Modify the Node-Level TCP Timeout Value in a Connect:Direct Node

About this task

TCP timeout identifies the maximum number of seconds Secure Proxy waits for a TCP buffer when communicating with a Connect:Direct® node. For inbound sessions, this field is used after the first buffer is received from the remote node and the connecting node is identified. For outbound sessions from the proxy, this field is used from the start of the session. The default value is 90 seconds. Use this procedure to modify the TCP timeout value.

To modify the TCP timeout value in a Connect:Direct node:

Procedure

  1. From IBM Sterling Secure Proxy, select Configuration from the left hand-side navigation panel.
  2. Select Netmaps to display Netmaps page.
  3. In the Netmaps page, click the View all Netmaps to display the list of created netmaps.
  4. Click the Netmap where the node is defined.
  5. Select the node you want to modify and click Edit icon.
  6. Under Netmap Nodes, click the overflow menu icon on the right side of a particular item to choose Edit.
  7. Click the Advanced tab.
  8. Change the value in the TCP timeout field.
  9. Click Save to save the new TCP timeout.
  10. Click Save to save the new netmap settings.
