IBM Security Directory Suite command reference
Use the virtual appliance command-line interface to run IBM® Security Directory Suite commands.
- Access the command-line interface (CLI) of the virtual appliance
by using either an
sshsession or the console. - From the command-line interface, log on to the IBM Security Directory
Suite virtual
appliance. The following message is displayed:
Welcome to the IBM Security Directory Suite appliance Enter "help" for a list of available commands - Enter sds to use the IBM Security Directory
Suite commands.
sdsva.example.com > sds - To see a list of available commands, enter the help command
at the command-line prompt. The help command provides
detailed information about each command from the list.
sdsva.example.com:sds> help
For the detailed syntax, see the links that are provided next to the description of each command.
Note: In a IBM Security Directory
Suite virtual
appliance environment where only one Directory Server instance is
present, specifying the instance name is optional. To view the name
of the existing instance in the virtual appliance use the idsilist command.
The IBM Security Directory
Suite commands
are categorized into the following folders:
client_tools SDS client utilities.
firmware_update Work with the SDS Appliance firmware settings.
migration_tools Migration utilities.
server_tools SDS server instance utilites.
