Support for IBM Db2 on IBM Power® AIX™

IBM Storage Defender Copy Data Management supports the application-aware snapshots and restore options of IBM Db2 database running on the IBM Power® AIX platform. This enhancement allows users to create application-aware snapshots of IBM Db2 databases and use restore options consistent with the existing application support. Support for IBM Storage FlashSystem version 9.1.3

IBM Storage Defender Copy Data Management supports IBM Storage FlashSystem version 9.1.3. This enhancement expands the application support to the IBM Storage FlashSystem version 9.1.3.

Support for offloading snapshots to IBM Storage Protect

IBM Storage Defender Copy Data Management enables seamless offloading of snapshots created on IBM Storage Virtualize for Snapshot to IBM Storage Protect, simplifying long-term tape retention while enhancing data protection and storage efficiency. Support for Dell PowerStore Storage platform

IBM Storage Defender Copy Data Management supports snapshot-based local and remote (Sync & Async modes) backup for virtual applications running on Dell PowerStore Storage. Supported workloads include Oracle, Microsoft SQL, SAP HANA, and VMware. This enhancement expands the support of applications by using Dell PowerStore Storage. Support for Dell PowerFlex Storage physical app for Windows™ file system and Microsoft SQL database

IBM Storage Defender Copy Data Management supports snapshot-based backup and replication of Windows file system and Microsoft SQL database. This enhancement enables broader protection coverage for applications running on Windows file system and Microsoft SQL database. Support for improved backup and restore workflows for Dell PowerMax Storage

IBM Storage Defender Copy Data Management supports improved backup and restore workflows for Dell PowerMax Storage:

• Backup workflow: IBM Storage Defender Copy Data Management creates a CDM‑managed Storage Group on Dell PowerMax Storage to take consistent, snapshot‑based backups only for the volumes relevant to the selected workload, simplifying management and avoiding unrelated data.
• Restore workflow: During restore operations, the system automatically resolves and reuses the correct Host Group and Port Group for ESXi clusters on Dell PowerMax Storage, leveraging the existing configurations with minimal manual intervention.

IBM Storage Defender Sentinel

Support for JFS2 AIX file system scanning

IBM Storage Defender Sentinel now supports security scanning for snapshots created on the JFS2 AIX file system. This enhancement allows users to scan JFS2 AIX file system snapshots for ransomware and other capabilities. For more information, see Server requirements and recommendations.

Support for IBM Storage Defender Copy Data Management

IBM Storage Defender Sentinel 2.3.1 is now qualified with IBM Storage Defender Copy Data Management 2.3.1. This enhancement allows use of IBM Storage Defender Sentinel 2.3.1 with IBM Storage Defender Copy Data Management 2.3.1.
