Installing IBM Storage Defender Copy Data Management on IBM Power

To install IBM® Storage Defender Copy Data Management on IBM Power, mount the ISO and run the installation script. The system automatically installs and configures all components. Follow the procedure below to prepare the environment and complete the installation.

Before you begin

Following are the system requirements:

Architecture: IBM Power 10 and IBM Power 11
OS: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.6
Memory: 48 GB RAM
CPU: 4 cores
Disk Space: 400 GB free

Note: You should be a root user or a user with Sudo privileges.

Note:

Make sure that the nmap-ncat RPM package is installed on the target system.

Procedure

Complete the following steps to install IBM Storage Defender Copy Data Management on IBM Power.

Download the IBM Storage Defender Copy Data Management ISO file.
To mount the ISO, run the following commands:
```
mkdir -p /mnt/cdm
mount -o loop IBMStorageDefenderCDM_<version>_PowerPC_En.iso /mnt/cdm
```
Note: Replace '<version>' with your ISO version
Navigate to the mount point:
```
cd /mnt/cdm
```
Run the following command to install the IBM Storage Defender Copy Data Management on IBM Power:
```
./install.sh
```
Review the end user license agreement. Type yes to accept and continue.
Note: The installation takes few minutes. The script will:
- Install all required packages
- Configure services
- Start CDM components
After installation completes, check if you are able to access CDM UI with the following URL:
```
https://your_host_ip/portal
```
Note: Logs are saved to /opt/scdm/log/InstallLog/
