Managing the administrative console

Log on to the Administrative Console to review the configuration of the IBM® Storage Defender Copy Data Management virtual appliance. Available information includes general system settings, network, proxy settings, and available updates.

Procedure

To manage the administrative console, complete the following steps:

From a supported browser, enter the following URL:
```
https://HOSTNAME:8090/
```
where HOSTNAME is the IP address of the virtual machine where the application is deployed.
In the login window, select System from the Authentication Type drop-down menu. Enter your password to access the Administrative Console..

Note: You are required to change the default System administrator password (ecxadLG235) before logging in to the Administrative Console. This password can only be modified through an SSH session.
Review the available options for the virtual appliance.

Note: Historically, the Admin Console provided options to start and stop Virgo and the appliance, but these options are deprecated starting with version 2.3.0. Users can restart the appliance through several alternative methods; therefore, this feature is redundant and no longer functions. We will remove it from a future version of the Admin Console.

Uploading IBM Storage Defender Copy Data Management license

This can upload the license for IBM Storage Defender Copy Data Management from the administrative console.

Procedure

To upload the license, complete the following steps:

From a supported browser, enter the following URL:

https://HOSTNAME:8090/
```
where HOSTNAME is the IP address of the virtual machine where the application is deployed.
Navigate to Menu > System Admin.
Click Manage your licenses option and the click Upload License.
Once you upload the license, successful license deployment message displays.
