4400 Patch installation failed

Explanation

An attempted patch installation has failed.

User response

To fix the patch installation error, use the Settings > System > Patch auto update panel in the management GUI to stop and re-start the Patch auto updater service. This should automatically reinstall the failing patch after the restart is complete.

If the issue persists, use the Settings > System > Update System > View available patches panel in the management GUI to install the failing patch.

Alternatively, using the command-line interface to fix the patch installation error, use the chsecurity command to stop and restart the Patch Auto Updater service. This should automatically reinstall the failing patch after the restart is complete.

If the issue persists, use the following commands:
  • lssystempatches command to detect the patch that has failed installation.
  • downloadsoftware command to manually download the errored patch to the config node.
  • applysoftware command to manually install the patch.

If the patch still fails to install, contact IBM support to resolve the problem.
