lsvolumegroup
Use the lsvolumegroup command to display information about configured volume groups.
Syntax
Parameters
- -delim delimiter
- (Optional) Specify a delimiter to separate data in the output.
- -nohdr
- (Optional) Suppress the headings in the output.
- -filtervalue attribute=value
- (Optional) Specifies a list of one or more filters. Only objects with a value that matches the filter attribute value are displayed.
- -filtervalue?
- (Optional) Displays a list of valid filter attributes.

- (Optional) Specifies a volume group ID or volume group name.
Description
This command displays information about configured volume groups.
This table provides the attribute values that can be displayed as output view data.
| Attribute | Description |
|---|---|
| volume_count | Indicates the number of volume members in a group. |
| backup_status | Indicates whether a new (volume) group snapshot can be started. The values
are:
|
| last_backup_time | Indicates the time of the most recent snapshot of the volume group
(YYMMDDHHMMSS). |
| owner_type | Indicates the type of ownership for the volume group. This field displays vvol if the volume group is used for VMware Virtual Volumes, or none otherwise. |
| safeguarded_policy_start_time | The value specified with -policytime. |
| snapshot_policy_id | Indicates the snapshot policy ID associated with volume group. |
| snapshot_policy_name | Indicates the snapshot policy name that is associated with volume group. |
| volume_group_type | Indicates the type of volume group to create. This view includes all volume groups of type clone or thinclone. |
| source_volume_group_id | Indicates the ID of the source volume group. Displays blank if group doesn’t exist. |
| source_volume_group_name | Indicates the name of the source volume group. Displays blank if group doesn’t exist. |
| parent_uid | Indicates the UID of the parent volume group this volume group was created from. |
| source_snapshot | Indicates the name of the source snapshot. |
| snapshot_count | Indicates the number of snapshots that are associated with this volume group. This count includes snapshot created for the volumes. |
| protection_provisioned_capacity | The amount of capacity provisioned to store point-in-time copies of volumes in the volume group. This includes snapshots and consistency protection for replication. |
| protection_written_capacity | The amount of capacity written to store point-in-time copies of volumes in the volume group before any data reduction. This includes snapshots and consistency protection for replication. |
| uid | Indicates the UID to uniquely identify the volume group. |
| replication_policy_id | Indicates the ID of the replication policy that is assigned to the volume group. |
| replication_policy_name | Indicates the name of the replication policy that is assigned to the volume
group. Note: If the volume group is in a storage partition with an HA
replication policy, and the HA partner system is running a version of software earlier than 8.7.0.0,
this field displays the HA replication policy to maintain backwards compatibility.
|
| ignore_user_flash_copy_maps | Indicates whether or not the volume group contains source volumes that are used in FlashCopy mappings. Value can be yes or no. |
| safeguarded_snapshot_count | Indicates the number of Safeguarded snapshots associated with the volume group. |
| partition_id | Indicates the ID of the partition associated with the volume group. |
| partition_name | Indicates the name of the partition associated with the volume group. |
| restore_in_progress | Indicate whether one or more volumes within the volume group are currently being restored. |
| draft_partition_id | Indicates the ID for draft partition associated with the volume group. |
| draft_partition_name | Indicates the name of draft partition associated with the volume group. |
| last_restore_time | Indicates the time that the volume group was last restored. The timestamp is in the format YYMMDDhhmmss. It will be blank if the volumegroup has never been restored. |
ha_replication_policy_id |
Indicates the ID of the HA replication policy assigned to the storage partition containing this volume group. |
ha_replication_policy_name |
Indicates the name of the HA replication policy assigned to the storage partition containing this volume group. |
| partition_default | Indicates whether the volume group is tagged as a default volume group. If it is in a partition, it will act as default volume group for the partition |
