Data model types
The data model in IBM® Safer Payments can be either the customer-centric or transaction-centric.
The customer-centric model puts the customer (account) in focus where the two parties of a transaction are represented by the customer side and the counterparty side. An extra attribute indicates the direction of the payment, meaning whether the payment is made from the customer to the counterparty or from the counterparty to the customer.
For more information, see Customer-centric model.
The transaction-centric model puts the transaction and the role of both parties in focus, represented by the originator (or payer) and the beneficiary (or payee). This model ignores which party is the customer, which means it can be either the originator or the beneficiary.
For more information, see Transaction-centric model.
