Setting up the integration with EGit (git)

You can integrate Rational® Integration Tester with EGit through the Eclipse Program Development Environment (PDE) which is called Rational Integration Tester Tools within the Rational Integration Tester environment.

About this task

EGit is an Eclipse project update site/p2 repository. Access it from within the Eclipse Program Development Environment (PDE) as follows:


  1. Start Rational Integration Tester and select Fetch Project from Source Control option in the project selection window. If Rational Integration Tester is already open, click File > Source Control to open the Rational Integration Tester Tools wizard. This is the Eclipse Program Development Environment (PDE) that you will work with to integrate Rational Integration Tester with EGit.
  2. In the Share Project dialog, click Cancel.
  3. Click Help > Install New Software.
  4. In the Install window, click Add.
  5. In the Add Repository dialog, enter a name for the repository. In the Location field, enter the following URL,, from where you will install EGit.

  6. Select the software component that is required for use with Rational Integration Tester, which is Eclipse Git Team Provider in this case. Click Next.
  7. Review the items to be installed and click Next.
  8. In the Review Licenses window, review the licenses and click I accept the terms of the license agreements and click Finish. The Rational Integration Tester Tools utility is restarted after the installation. The installation takes a while to complete.
  9. When prompted, restart Rational Integration Tester Tools for the changes to take effect.
  10. In the Configure Git Repository window, select an existing repository or create one.
