The binary file is not found when starting a browser instance

Before you begin

The error occurs when the versions of the browser's driver and the browser are not equivalent.

  • Check the version of your browser.
  • Enable hidden files and folders view in Windows Explorer. Follow these steps: From the File menu, click View and mark the Hidden items check box.

Procedure

  1. Download the browser's driver corresponding to the version of the browser you have.
    1. If you are on Google Chrome, download the Chrome Driver External link.
    2. If you are on Mozilla Firefox, download the Gecko Driver External link.
  2. Unzip the downloaded file.
  3. Place the downloaded file in the %LOCALAPPDATA%\IBM Robotic Process Automation\packages\{version} folder, where{version} is the version of IBM Robotic Process Automation that you have installed.
