Modifying computer's capacity
Learn how to modify computers' capacity. A computer's capacity value is the amount of Bot Runtimes that a computer can run concurrently.
Starting from version 23.0.2, you can also modify the computer's capacity value in the IBM Robotic Process Automation as a Service offering.
Before you begin
Your user needs permission to manage computers. See the Checking user permissions topic to learn how to check your user permissions.
Procedure
- Log in to IBM RPA Control Center.
- In the Define menu, click the Computers > Computers tab.
- Choose a computer and click the vertical ellipsis button ⋮ > Edit.
- In the Capacity field, enter the amount of Bot Runtimes that can run concurrently on the computer.
After you modify the computer's capacity, you must restart the IBM Robotic Process Automation Agent service on the computer that is affected by the change:
- Open the Windows Task Manager.
- On the Services tab, search for IBM Robotic Process Automation Agent.
- Choose the action as needed:
- If the service is running, right-click on it and select Restart.
- If the service is not running, right-click on it and select Start.
What to do next
When you change the computer's capacity to a value greater than one, you allow your bots to run concurrently. That means that you can run multiple bots at the same time; each bot running requires one Bot Runtime license.
To check the total amount of Bot Runtimes that a computer can run, use the IBM RPA Client page (https://localhost:8099/web/en-US/ibmrpaclient
).
On the client computer, open the IBM RPA Client page and go to the Status tab. In this tab, you can see the number of Bot Runtimes in use, the total amount of Bot Runtimes that a computer has, and how many Bot Runtimes are avaiable to use at that moment.
The capacity value is available on this tab starting from
IBM RPA 23.0.4.
