Using the user vault
This section describes how to use credentials in the user vault.
Before you begin
You must comply with the following requirements before you start this procedure:
- See Planning for using the IBM RPA Vault for considerations and differences between the User and System Vaults.
- Create credential profiles in the IBM RPA Control Center. For more information, see Configuring credential profiles in the IBM RPA Control Center.
- Configure your credentials in the user vault. For more information, see Configuring the User Vault.
- The user must belong to the group that has access to the credential.
Important:User Vault credentials are configured locally on each machine that uses the credential profile configured in the IBM RPA Control Center.
- You must have a valid license to use the IBM RPA Vault tool. Check out the license by going to the License page (
https://localhost:8099/web/en-US/license
) on the machine where IBM RPA is installed. The amount of available instances is visible next to the Vault label.
Important:Starting from version 23.0.3, the License page (
https://localhost:8099/web/en-US/license
) isn't available anymore because of the removal of License ID
and License password
and implementation of installation keys. For details on proxy, region, or status, go to the IBM RPA Client page (https://localhost:8099/web/en-US/ibmrpaclient
) instead.Getting credentials
Obtaining User Vault credentials is only possible if the prerequisites described in Before you begin have been met.
To get credentials from the User Vault, use the Get Vault Item (getVaultItem
) command with the System (--system
)
input parameter disabled.
