UMS certificate expired

If the certificate used by the UMS service from the IBM Robotic Process Automation on premises server expires, you must update your UMS certificate.

Before you begin

Only users with access to the server files can perform this operation.

Procedure

Starting at version 23.0.15, IBM RPA can now regenerate the self-signed certificates used by UMS.

  1. Open PowerShell.

  2. Enter the directory where the tool is located:

cd C:\Program Files\IBM Robotic Process Automation\IBM Robotic Process Automation Server\Commom_Files

  3. Run the following command to generate a new self-signed certificate for UMS:

    rpatool.exe --renewumscertificate

If you experience further issues, check the SetupService.log file at "C:\ProgramData\IBM Robotic Process Automation\Setup".
