IBM RPA on premises architecture

The IBM Robotic Process Automation on premises offering comes with a single-system installer that defaults to a simple getting started deployment. The installer automatically configures the host with specific key components, like ABBYY® Optical Character Recognition (OCR). Although the installer provides flexibility in port assignments, the following links to the architecture diagrams show the typical default.

You can deploy the IBM RPA on premises offering in strict air-gapped deployments, which means no connectivity to the internet. However, usage of cloud services is not possible with no network connectivity.

  • IBM RPA on premises client-side architecture
The architecture diagram for the client-side IBM RPA on premises offering. Although the client-side architecture is similar between the SaaS and on-premises offerings, the networking considerations are different. For example, the on-premises offering is designed to allow air-gapped deployments, whereas the SaaS client needs to talk to the public IBM RPA SaaS endpoints.
