About this release

IBM® Rational® Developer for i V9.6 provides a single development environment for modern IBM i application development and modernization, allowing developers to create and maintain traditional RPG, COBOL, C, C++, DDS, and SQL applications, as well as extend those with services and application clients implemented using a variety of other technologies.

Built on Eclipse 4.6, an extensible platform for constructing and integrating software tools, IBM Rational Developer for i is a part of the IBM Rational Software Delivery Platform series of products.

Known limitations, problems, and workarounds

Updates, limitations, and known problems about IBM Rational Developer for i are documented in the product library at the product Web site for IBM Rational Developer for i (http://www.ibm.com/software/products/us/en/dev-ibm-i/). For a list of updates and APARs, go to the Web site and find the link for Product support in the Overview page, then choose the Downloads or Troubleshooting task. The Fix List document lists the available updates and the APARs addressed in the updates.

As limitations and problems are discovered and resolved, the IBM Software Support team updates the knowledge base (see http://www.ibm.com/support/entry/portal/Overview/Software/Rational/Rational_Developer_for_i). By searching the knowledge base, you can quickly find workarounds or solutions to problems that you experience.
