This Fix Pack contains fixes for APARS and internal defects.
The following new and enhanced features were introduced in Rational® Business Developer V9.6.1:
RBD now supports basic authentication of CICS and Java SOAP services, using the UsernameToken policy.
Authentication is enabled in the SOAP service by setting the UsernameToken policy for service deployment. For more information, see Adding a SOAP service binding to the deployment descriptor.
Default username and password can be specified in the service binding. For more information, see Adding web-service deployment entries in the EGL deployment descriptor.
Username and password are transmitted as plain text in the generated SOAP request headers.
New serviceLib function setSOAPAuthentication() is available for Java clients to override the credentials provided in the deployment descriptor. For more information, see setSOAPAuthentication().
RBD has introduced the user authentication at CICS to authorize the SOAP requester before providing access to the CICS SOAP Service.
In SOAP Client request, Requester must provide the User Id and Password details in SOAP Header. For more information, see Special considerations for accessing the SOAP authentication CICS Service.
SOAP authentication is not supported.
RBD will now support the missing return function that Java flags and vice versa, enhancing EGL to operate by Java. Select the appropriate option in Rational Business Developer to enable this functionality, as it ensures backward compatibility. Otherwise, the default setting will be used. For more information, see Setting Preference for EGL functions not to utilize the 'return’ statement when the function’s return type is ‘void’
Performance improvement has been made for rowSetSize internal processing. Array variables will store the record and will make limited calls to improve performance.
EGL Records used as SOAP Headers no longer require an explicitly defined namespace.
When setting a field in a nullable record, the record’s null flag is now set to false.
EGL SOAP services can now be invoked concurrently on Liberty (regeneration and redeployment is required to enable this feature).
EGL now supports SOAP headers on Liberty.
