Defining a backend ID for database type

For 2.x CMPs, you can specify a back-end ID for the database type that you are deploying to. The backend ID determines the persister classes that get loaded at deployment.

Procedure

  1. Switch to the Java™ EE perspective.
  2. In the Enterprise Explorer view, select the desired EJB module.
  3. Right click the Deployment Descriptor, and select Open With > Deployment Descriptor Editor.
  4. On the Overview page of the editor, select the Backend ID section under WebSphere® Bindings.
  5. Select a database from the list. You can also refresh the backend ID.
