Introduction: Customized UML profiles

In this tutorial, you use the Project Explorer view, Properties view, diagram editor, and other user interface (UI) elements to create a profile tooling project that contains a new profile. You also divide a profile palette into two palettes, and divide a profile menu into two menus.

This tutorial might require some optionally installable components. To ensure that you installed the appropriate optional components, see the System requirements list.

Learning objectives

The tutorial is divided into four lessons. In the first lesson, you create a profile tooling project with a new profile. After you create the project, you divide a profile tooling palette in lessons 2 and 3. Finally, you will divide a profile tooling menu. You can use profile tooling to modify and customize a profile so that when you apply the profile to a model, you can use custom profile menus and palettes.
