Installing 1.1.5

You can install IBM® Rapid Infrastructure Automation® 1.1.5 on Red Hat® OpenShift® or Kubernetes clusters. You run a script that dynamically downloads the required container images and installs the application.

You can install the application on single-node or multi-node clusters, whether the cluster is connected to the internet or is air-gapped. Installations on both on-premises and cloud-hosted clusters are supported.

In connected clusters (clusters that are connected to the internet), you install the application by downloading and running an installation script. This script uses your entitlement key to dynamically download the required images from IBM Container Registry and install the application.

In air-gapped (disconnected) clusters, you must take extra steps before you can run the installation script. You first use a bastion host to mirror the container images to a private container registry that the air-gapped cluster can access. When you run the installation script, you can then specify this private registry as the image download source.

Usually, the workflows that you create in IBM Rapid Infrastructure Automation® are run on the same host where the application runs. However, you might prefer to run some workflow tasks on remote hosts. In these cases, you must install remote workers on those hosts.
