Importing assets by using Rational ClearCase Unified Change Management (UCM)

When you find an IBM Rational ClearCase® Unified Change Management (UCM) asset and want to modify its contents, import the asset into your workspace.

Before you begin

Before you complete this task, you must have an active Rational ClearCase UCM repository connection.
Draft comment:
LJW: Do you mean "an active repository connection in Rational ClearCase UCM"? Be specific.

Import the asset from Rational ClearCase UCM by using the SCM adapter.
    1. Select Import files through SCM.
    2. Specify how to import the content:
      • For the latest content on the branch that the asset was submitted from, select Import latest from current branch.
      • For content that is on another branch, select Import from other existing branches and type the name of the branch.
Restriction: Although file versions can be in different branches, an asset can have artifacts from only one branch.
    3. Click OK.
  3. In the Select Shared Folder window, click Browse and select a shared folder on the network.
  4. Enable permissions so that other users can access the folder over the network. To share a folder:
    1. Right-click the folder and select Properties.
    2. In the properties window, click the Sharing tab.
    3. Define the share name and then define full control for authenticated users.
  5. Click OK.

Results
