Example of Asset Reuse Efforts Estimation
Assume you have created an asset, where you have captured initial time spent on creating this under an attribute Estimated Efforts in hours. When you download this asset, you have an option to record Actual Efforts in hours, which you might have presumably saved on reusing this asset. These metrics, estimated and actual efforts, are used by the smart report engine to derive overall time saved on reusing assets by users in a community.
Before you begin
- An asset with custom attribute "Estimated Efforts" must have been created by the administrator.
- Your administrator must have configured a smart report Asset Reuse Effort Estimation based on the custom attribute Estimated Effort. For more details on configuring a smart report, refer Configuring Smart Report Analytics.
About this task
- Estimated Effort - This effort is recorded while creating the asset for the first time by the community administrator.
- Actual Effort - This effort is saved by you reusing an asset.
In the Submit an Asset page, administrator must have captured first time effort spent in the Estimated Effort attribute box while submitting an asset.
When you download this asset, the notification icon displays an alert indicating number of attributes associated to the asset, where in this example, it is the Estimated Effort attribute as the point of reference associated to this asset. In the notification dialog box, you can capture Actual Efforts box, under the Asset Reuse Effort Estimation tab.
