Asset Tag migration to Another RAM server by Library

Rational Asset Manager is enhanced to support Asset migration using Libraries by associating tag to the asset.

      Rational Asset Manager Security has been enhanced to handle the "Clickjacking" attack, which is a "client side" security issue that affects a variety of browsers and platforms.

      Rational Asset Manager was impacted by CVE-2021-4104 (a weaker variant of CVE-2021-44228) and CVE-2019-17571, a sanitized version of log4j-1.2.11 is implemented to mitigate the risk.

IBM® Rational® Team Concert™ that is offered as an integrated/bundled software along with Rational Asset Manager is now upgraded to V7.0.1.

Enhancement to print additional activity audit data in Audit Report

A new field, Enable additional fields for Audit report, which you can optionally configure to print additional data - Type, State, and Last Modified dates of an activity in the Audit report. For more information on activity audit, see Generating an activity.

Enhancement to encrypt DB2 connection from RAM using SSL

A new field, SSL Connection, is now available to encrypt database connection (DB2) from Rational Asset Manager application deployed on WAS. For more information on configuring database, see Configuring databases by using the server setup application.

Terms and Conditions agreement option in Rational Asset Manager login page

Rational Asset Manager login page is enhanced with an option that mandates a user to read and accept the terms and conditions of your organization before they proceed to login. A repository administrator is authorized to configure the Terms and Conditions option from Advanced Settings configuration page of Rational Asset Manager. Support integration of IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management externally

Rational Asset Manager is enhanced to support external integration of IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management 7.0.1.

WebSphere Application Server V9.0.5.5 and V8.5.5.18 are now supported.

Enhancement in Smart Report Analytics feature

The enhancements in the smart report feature for this release are as follows:
  • The, Smart Report, is now enhanced to be more generic to analyze any asset attribute statistics captured in an asset lifecycle span.
  • A new, Custom syntax, is now introduced in the Configuration section of Administrator page, to configure smart report form by mapping predefined custom tags to the asset attributes. The smart report form you configure in this page is presented in different tabs in the Asset Reuse Graph notification dialog box.
  • The, Asset effort notification alert dialog box, is now enhanced as Asset Reuse Graph dialog box that displays multiple tabs representing asset attributes as configured in the Smart Report Analytics configuration.

Introducing asset Search feedback

A new feature, asset search feedback is now available for a user role and administrator to exchange asset search list related disparity. For more information refer, Search Feedback topic.
Note: For activating the Search feedback feature in Rational Asset Manager application, administrator must run the table script provided in this release to create an asset inquiry table and primary key in the respective database.

Enhancement in command-line reference Publish command

The Publish command of the Rational Asset Manager command-line reference is enhanced with a new parameter attributes, which helps you to associate an attribute and publish a package corresponding to an asset.

Changes in attaching artifacts to assets

The artifacts upload feature is now available with only the drag-and-drop option. The Basic upload option is not available from this release onwards.

Introducing Smart Report analytics feature for Asset effort analysis

A new report, Smart Report, is introduced to analyze effort statistics captured in an asset lifecycle span. A community administrator has the privilege to generate this report to analyze overall efforts saved on reusing an asset. You have options to generate report as follows:
  • Community-level
  • Asset Type-level
  • Asset-level
The effort attribute types required for generating Smart Report are as follows:
  • Estimated Effort – This attribute type is available in the Submit an Asset page to capture initial efforts spent on creating an asset.
  • Actual Effort – This attribute type is available in the Asset Reuse Efforts Estimation dialog box, which is displayed on clicking the new notification alert icon available on the Rational Asset Manager application client page.

Introducing Asset effort notification alert

A new notification icon is added on the web client page, which displays an alert indicating number of assets imported with Estimated Effort. A new Asset Reuse Effort Estimation dialog box is displayed on clicking this notification alert. The assets imported are listed in this dialog box, where a new asset attribute type Actual Effort is provided against each asset that is imported to capture efforts spent on reusing an asset.

Updates to Signer certificate

The Signer certificate in the server is now updated and available for applying in the respective Rational Asset Manager clients.

Rational Team Concert Upgrade

Internal Rational Team Concert is upgraded to version 6.0.6. You can use Rational Team Concert 6.0.6 as external Rational Team Concert.

User comment entry for secured access to Asset

Asset access permission is enhanced to prompt the user to mandatorily enter a comment. By adding comments, the user can identify the purpose for accessing the Assets and can obtain permission to access the Asset.

Platform and related software support
  • You can use Microsoft Server SQL 2014 or 2016. Microsoft SQL Server 2012 is not supported.
  • Db2 10.1 is not supported.

Usage improvement

Rational Asset Manager 7.5.4.1 supports cloning a community by selecting community attributes such as Roles, Users, Category Schemas, Asset Types, Lifecycles and so on.

Rational Asset Manager Eclipse client upgraded to Neon 4.6.2

The Eclipse client is now upgraded to Neon 4.6.2 version that enhances stability and functionality of Rational Asset Manager 7.5.4.

Enhancement to support TLSv1.2

Rational Asset Manager 7.5.4 is now enhanced to support TLSv1.2, which offers number of new cipher suites, many of those using the SHA2-based hashing.

Rational Asset Manager integration support with UrbanCode Deploy

Rational Asset Manager 7.5.4 is now integrated with UrbanCode Deploy (UCD) 7.0. The integration also supports UCD 7.0.0.1.

Mandatory user comment entry for secured access to a community

Community access permission is now customized for prompting the user to mandatorily enter comments (access purpose) for obtaining permission to access a community.

Improvement in installer bits consumption capability

The bits consumption of Rational Asset Manager is now reduced to half of its current ability.

Previous versions
